Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a nonionic water-soluble cellulose ether that provides a variety of functional properties when dissolved in water. It can be used as a thickener, binder, surfactant, protective colloid, suspending agent and water retention agent.
HPMC powder is a semi synthetic, inactive, and viscoelastic polymer, belonging to one of the non ionic cellulose mixed ethers. HPMC is an important cellulose ether with a wide range of uses and functions. In the solid state, it is a pure white slightly yellow powder product, with a white or slightly yellow fibrous or granular appearance. It has good stability and is incompatible with strong oxidants. The product is flammable. There are strict requirements for production, transportation, and storage.
